Parkway Repairs Commenced

In case you haven’t noticed, the county has been out and started the cleanup work where the drain pipes blew back in 2012. This is the first phase of the cleanup/mitigation for their side of Parkway. The overgrown brush and dead trees have been removed and the new “land area” in the water has been sprayed. The algae have also been treated and should be dying off within the next week.

The next steps will be to remove the soil that has filled in the water area and to fix the retaining wall and secure the embankment from further erosion.

On the LPEE side of Parkway Blvd, the Association is getting proposals to fix the weir. The weir is compromised and water is coming through the slats. The boards will be replaced with starboard plastic sheets that have a lifetime warranty. This work should be completed in December. When the weir is finished the Brazilian peppers and underbrush will be cut back.

This structural repair and cleanup has been a long time coming and we thank you for your patience and understanding. I hope you will agree the new look and functionality was worth the wait.
